Sized salt
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003433
Sodium chloride (NaCl) particles with a specific, controlled size distribution, used as an additive in drilling fluids. It serves as a bridging agent to seal permeable formations and as a weighting material to increase fluid density. Sized salt is particularly effective in preventing fluid loss in salt formations and can be dissolved for easy removal.
