Cerebellar tonsillar herniation

The displacement of the cerebellar tonsils, which are the lowest parts of the cerebellum, through the foramen magnum at the base of the skull. This condition results from increased intracranial pressure, compressing the brainstem and potentially leading to severe neurological dysfunction. It is a life-threatening medical emergency requiring immediate intervention.
