Supratentorial herniation

The displacement of brain tissue from the supratentorial compartment into an adjacent compartment, typically through the tentorial incisura, due to increased intracranial pressure. This condition can compress vital brain structures and blood vessels, leading to severe neurological dysfunction or death. It is a medical emergency requiring immediate intervention.
