Pseudomeningocele
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009638
An abnormal collection of cerebrospinal fluid that communicates with the subarachnoid space but is not contained within a true meningeal sac. It forms as a result of a tear or defect in the dura mater, the outermost layer of the meninges. This condition can arise as a complication of spinal surgery or trauma, and its diagnosis is confirmed through imaging techniques like magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
