Sinus

A cavity or hollow space within a bone or other tissue, or a dilated channel for venous blood. These anatomical structures serve functions such as reducing skull weight, resonating sound, or facilitating fluid drainage. Examples include the paranasal sinuses in the skull and the dural venous sinuses in the brain.
