Sintering
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010913
A process of consolidating particulate materials into a solid or porous mass by heating them to a temperature below their melting point. During sintering, particles bond together through atomic diffusion, leading to a reduction in porosity and an increase in density and strength. This technique is widely used in the fabrication of ceramics, metals, and polymer components.
