Sinoatrial node

A specialized cluster of myocardial cells located in the wall of the right atrium of the heart, near the entrance of the superior vena cava. This tissue generates electrical impulses that initiate the heartbeat and regulate its rhythm. It functions as the natural pacemaker of the heart, controlling the rate of cardiac contraction.
