Draining lymph node

A regional lymph node that receives lymphatic fluid and antigens from a specific anatomical area or tissue. These nodes are the first sites where immune responses are initiated against pathogens or foreign substances encountered in that region. Antigens are transported to these nodes, where they are presented to lymphocytes.
