Lymph node

A small, bean-shaped organ of the immune system, distributed throughout the body along lymphatic vessels. It filters lymph, trapping foreign particles, pathogens, and cancer cells, and serves as a site for immune cell activation and interaction. Lymph nodes swell during infections due to increased immune activity.
