Lymph
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006822
A fluid collected from tissues throughout the body that circulates through the lymphatic system before returning to the bloodstream. For bioanalytical purposes, it is considered a biological matrix containing lymphocytes, proteins, and fats, but lacking red blood cells and platelets. Its composition varies depending on the collection site, for example, lymph from the digestive system is rich in lipids after a meal.
