Vena cava

Either of the two largest veins in the body that return deoxygenated blood from the systemic circulation to the right atrium of the heart. The superior vena cava carries blood from the upper half of the body, while the inferior vena cava carries blood from the lower and middle body. These vessels are central to the cardiovascular system's function.
