Vasoconstriction

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012526

The narrowing of blood vessels, resulting from the contraction of the muscular walls of the vessels, particularly the large arteries and small arterioles. This physiological process reduces blood flow to specific areas of the body and increases systemic vascular resistance. It is a mechanism for regulating blood pressure and distributing blood flow.
