Vasoactive amine
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012525
A class of biogenic amines that exert a direct effect on the tone of blood vessels, causing either constriction or dilation. These compounds are typically derived from amino acids through decarboxylation. Examples include histamine, serotonin, and catecholamines like adrenaline and noradrenaline, which play roles in allergic reactions, neurotransmission, and stress responses.
