Amine imides
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012861
Neutral 1,2-dipolar compounds formally made by joining a tertiary amine to a nitrene, giving an ammonium nitrogen bonded to a negatively charged nitrogen that carries one substituent. They are made by deprotonating N-aminoammonium salts. Isolable examples usually carry an acyl or sulfonyl group on the negative nitrogen, which stabilises the charge, and are called aminimides.
