Aminoxides
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012863
Anions of the type R2N-O with the negative charge on oxygen, where R may be hydrogen or a hydrocarbyl group, formed when a hydroxylamine loses the proton of its OH group. Dimethylaminoxide, the anion from dimethylhydroxylamine, is an example. They are not amine oxides, which are neutral compounds with three substituents on a positively charged nitrogen.
