Arsine oxides

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012888

Organic compounds containing a pentavalent arsenic atom double-bonded to an oxygen atom and single-bonded to three organic substituents. They are characterized by the general structure R3As=O, where R represents an organic group. These compounds are polar and can act as ligands in coordination chemistry, similar to phosphine oxides.
