Arsenides

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000795

Anionic species formally derived by the removal of one or more hydrons from arsane, AsH₃, or its derivatives. These anions have the general formulas R₂As⁻, RAsH⁻, or AsH₂⁻. The term also describes binary compounds of arsenic with more electropositive elements, such as gallium arsenide (GaAs), a semiconductor.
