Arsanylium ions
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012887
The arsanyl cation H2As+ and its substitution derivatives R2As+, in which a two-coordinate arsenic atom carries a positive charge, a lone pair, and two substituents. They arise formally by removing a hydride or another anionic group from an arsane or an R2As-X compound, and they are arsenic analogues of phosphenium and nitrenium ions. They should not be confused with arsinylium ions, H2As(=O)+, which are acylium-type cations derived from arsinic acid.
