Aminiumyl radical ions
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000491
Radical cations with the general structure R3N•+, formally derived from an aminium ion (R3N+H) by the removal of a hydrogen atom. They are also conceptualized as arising from an amine (R3N) through the addition of a proton followed by the removal of one electron. The term is synonymous with ammoniumyl radical ions, which is the preferred IUPAC name.
