  "definition": "A reversible-deactivation radical polymerization whose dormant species is a persistent radical, with deactivation of a propagating radical occurring through reversible addition followed by fragmentation. The mediator, for example a 1,1-diarylethylene or a captodative monomer, adds the propagating radical to give a long-lived radical adduct that serves as the resting state. It differs from degenerative RAFT chain transfer, where the dormant chains are closed-shell thiocarbonylthio compounds, though it may contribute to the control seen in RAFT systems.",
