Degenerative chain transfer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002927
A chain transfer reaction in which the radical character is transferred from a propagating polymer chain to a dormant species, and the newly formed radical from the dormant species is capable of reinitiating polymerization. This process is reversible and does not lead to chain termination. It is a key mechanism in controlled radical polymerization techniques.
