Degenerate-transfer radical polymerisation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002926
A type of reversible-deactivation radical polymerization where the active radical species rapidly and reversibly transfers its radical character to a dormant species, typically through a chain transfer agent. This process maintains a low concentration of active radicals, leading to controlled polymer growth and narrow molecular weight distributions. Iodine-transfer polymerization is a common example.
