Iodine-transfer polymerization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006068
A type of reversible-deactivation radical polymerization that uses an iodine-containing compound as a reversible chain transfer agent. The iodine atom reversibly transfers between growing polymer chains and dormant species, allowing for controlled polymer growth and narrow molecular weight distributions. This method is effective for synthesizing polymers with well-defined architectures.
