Coordinative chain-transfer polymerization

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002564

A polymerization process where the growing polymer chain reversibly transfers between different catalytic sites or metal centers, leading to the formation of multiple polymer chains from a single initiator. This mechanism allows for the production of polymers with narrow molecular weight distributions and complex architectures. It is a variant of coordination polymerization.
