Controlled ionic polymerization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002529
A polymerization method involving ionic active centers (cations or anions) where chain growth proceeds with minimal chain transfer and termination, leading to polymers with predictable molecular weights and narrow molecular weight distributions. This control allows for the synthesis of complex polymer architectures like block copolymers. Both controlled anionic and cationic polymerizations fall under this category.
