Living cationic polymerization

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006714

A type of cationic chain polymerization characterized by the absence of irreversible chain transfer and termination reactions, allowing for continuous chain growth. The active chain ends retain their reactivity, enabling the synthesis of polymers with controlled molecular weights and narrow polydispersities. This process often requires specific initiators and counterions to suppress side reactions.
