Living polymerization

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006721

A chain polymerization process where chain transfer and termination reactions are absent or suppressed, allowing the polymer chains to remain active indefinitely. This enables precise control over molecular weight, molecular weight distribution, and the synthesis of block copolymers. The active centers persist throughout the reaction, capable of further monomer addition.
