Living ring-opening metathesis polymerization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006723
A type of ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) where the propagating metal carbene species remains active throughout the reaction, preventing chain termination and transfer. This allows for precise control over polymer molecular weight and polydispersity. The polymerization can be restarted by adding more monomer, leading to block copolymer formation.
