Living condensative chain polymerization

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006715

A chain polymerization process where the active chain ends remain reactive throughout the reaction, allowing for continued growth upon addition of more monomer. This method minimizes chain termination and chain transfer reactions, leading to polymers with controlled molecular weights and low dispersity. It combines features of both chain-growth and step-growth polymerization mechanisms.
