Controlled cationic polymerization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002527
A type of chain polymerization where the growth of polymer chains proceeds via cationic active centers, but with a significantly reduced rate of termination and chain transfer reactions. This control leads to polymers with narrow molecular weight distributions and predictable end-group functionalities. The process often involves specific Lewis acid catalysts and carefully selected initiators to achieve living polymerization characteristics.
