Controlled delivery

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002528

The release of an active substance from a polymer system at a predetermined rate, for a specific duration, and to a targeted location. This process is engineered by controlling the properties of the polymer matrix, such as its degradation rate, porosity, or its response to external stimuli like pH or temperature. Controlled delivery systems are designed to maintain substance concentrations within a therapeutic window, contrasting with the fluctuating levels from conventional administration.
