Modified release

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007453

A characteristic of a pharmaceutical dosage form designed to alter the rate or place of drug release in the body compared to a conventional dosage form. This modification can lead to prolonged therapeutic effects, reduced dosing frequency, or targeted delivery to specific sites. Examples include sustained-release, extended-release, and delayed-release formulations.
