Modified sample

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007454

Material drawn from the parent population, whole or as a fraction of known size, in which the analyte has been separated out or enriched before delivery to the laboratory; an example is a pollutant collected from a large volume of air on a sorbent at the sampling site. Where the same separation or enrichment happens in the laboratory instead, it belongs to the preparation of the test sample and does not create a modified sample.
