Modified Auger parameter

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007452

A parameter used in X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) that combines the kinetic energy of an Auger electron and the binding energy of a photoelectron from the same atom. It is defined as the sum of the kinetic energy of the Auger electron and the binding energy of the core-level photoelectron. This parameter is independent of charging effects and provides chemical state information.
