Auger spectroscopy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012904
A surface-sensitive analytical technique that uses a beam of electrons or X-rays to eject core-level electrons from atoms, leading to the emission of Auger electrons. The kinetic energies of these Auger electrons are characteristic of the elements present and their chemical environment. It provides elemental and chemical state information from the top few nanometers of a surface.
