Auger vacancy satellite
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000953
An Auger emission that occurs while extra spectator vacancies exist, either in the initial or in the final state of the transition, so that the electron appears in a satellite peak displaced in kinetic energy from the normal diagram line. The additional holes alter the energies of the electrons involved. Such satellites are weaker than diagram lines and often overlap the main spectral features.
