Chemical state plot
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012974
A plot used in X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy that sets the kinetic energy of a sharp Auger line of an element against the binding energy of a photoelectron line of the same element, with each chemical state appearing as a separate point. Lines of constant modified Auger parameter, the sum of the two energies, run diagonally across it, so a shift from sample charging moves a point along such a line. It is also called a Wagner plot.
