Polymer drug
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009170
A macromolecular therapeutic agent where a drug molecule is covalently attached to a polymer backbone, or where the polymer itself possesses therapeutic activity. This conjugation can alter the drug's pharmacokinetic profile, such as its solubility, circulation time, or targeting capabilities. Polymer drugs are often designed for controlled release or reduced toxicity.
