Drug carrier

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003442

A material or system designed to encapsulate, transport, and deliver a pharmacologically active substance to a specific site in the body or to control its release profile. These carriers, often polymeric, can improve drug solubility, stability, and bioavailability, while reducing systemic toxicity. Examples include nanoparticles, liposomes, and polymeric micelles.
