Targeting
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011826
The process of directing a polymer, often as part of a drug delivery system, to a specific cell type, tissue, or organ within a biological system. This is achieved by incorporating specific ligands or recognition elements into the polymer structure that bind to receptors on the target site. Such strategies are employed in medicine to concentrate therapeutic agents at disease sites, such as tumors.
