Carrier-linked prodrug
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001684
A type of prodrug formed by the temporary chemical linkage of an active drug to a carrier molecule. This linkage aims to improve the drug's physicochemical properties, such as solubility, stability, or membrane permeability, or to achieve targeted delivery. The active drug is released in vivo through enzymatic or non-enzymatic cleavage of the linker.
