Conjugate
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002438
A molecule or compound built to carry one or several active species, such as a drug, dye or imaging agent, joined to a carrier like a polymer, protein or nanoparticle so that the carrier's specificity, solubility or transport is exploited. The link is normally covalent and often cleavable. Brentuximab vedotin, an antibody joined to a cytotoxic drug through a cleavable linker, is an antibody-drug conjugate.
