Conjoined twin

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002437

Identical twins whose bodies are joined together at birth, resulting from the incomplete separation of a single fertilized egg during early embryonic development. The extent and location of the fusion vary widely, determining the shared organs and the feasibility of surgical separation. This rare phenomenon occurs in approximately 1 in 50,000 to 1 in 100,000 births.
