Autosite
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001006
The more completely developed member of a pair of conjoined twins, to which a smaller, less developed, and dependent twin is attached. The autosite provides partial or complete life support, including circulation, for the attached twin, which is known as the parasite. This relationship occurs in cases of asymmetrical conjoined twinning, where one twin's development is severely incomplete.
