Polyanhydride
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009102
A polymer characterized by anhydride linkages in its main chain, formed by the condensation reaction of dicarboxylic acids. These polymers are typically biodegradable and exhibit good biocompatibility, making them suitable for controlled drug delivery systems. The anhydride bonds are susceptible to hydrolysis, leading to polymer degradation over time.
