Controlled atmosphere
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002526
An environment where the composition of the gaseous mixture, particularly oxygen, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen levels, is precisely regulated. This technique is often employed to extend the shelf life of perishable goods by slowing down respiration and spoilage. It is widely used in the storage of fruits and vegetables.
