Pyrolysis mass spectrometry
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009707
A technique that involves the thermal decomposition of a sample in an inert atmosphere, followed by the analysis of the volatile products using a mass spectrometer. This method provides information about the chemical composition and structure of complex, non-volatile materials. The pyrolysis temperature and heating rate are carefully controlled parameters.
