Flash vacuum pyrolysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004476
A synthetic technique involving the rapid heating of a substance to high temperatures (typically 400-1100 °C) under high vacuum, followed by rapid cooling of the gaseous products. This method is used to generate highly reactive, short-lived intermediates or to induce specific thermal rearrangements. The short residence time at high temperature minimizes secondary reactions.
