Flash fluorimetry

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004472

A technique in molecular luminescence spectroscopy that measures the decay of fluorescence intensity over time after excitation by a short pulse of light. A pulsed light source, such as a flash lamp or laser, excites the sample, and the subsequent emission is monitored as a function of time. This method provides information about excited-state lifetimes and molecular dynamics, with typical decay times ranging from nanoseconds to microseconds.
