Single-photon timing
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010898
A highly sensitive technique used to measure the time-resolved fluorescence decay of a sample by detecting individual photons emitted after pulsed excitation. It relies on the statistical accumulation of arrival times of single photons relative to the excitation pulse. This method provides precise measurements of fluorescence lifetimes, typically in the picosecond to nanosecond range.
